Write-In Paris
Communal scribble sessions in the City of Light
WIP is held in a cozy, light-filled Latin Quarter apartment with a
plant-filled balcony and exposed beams, lots of books and
windows overlooking a quiet courtyard and the Panthéon. The
resident dog, who thinks he’s a cuddly cat, will sit quietly at
your feet if you like that kind of thing. If not, he can be sent
into the bedroom (normally allergic friends have no reaction to
this guy).
Each weekly meeting begins with 15 minutes of settling in and
warm-up, followed by 2 hours of dedicated work. The host
provides prompts if needed, though you're encouraged to
bring what you most want to work on. The collective energy of the room motivates! The final 15 minutes is reserved for wrap-up and sharing a bit of what we worked on (only if you want to!). No critique.
Whether you’re in the midst of a book-length manuscript, just starting an illustration project or dreaming of filling out that long application for a photography competition, WIP helps you channel the concentrated focus you’ll need to push forward.
